What’s In My Bag

A Bag For Every Situation

If you’ve been following my blog a while then you’ll have seen my last what’s in my backpack post, back last July however, the bag I use and the contents within has changed these past few months and although I have a selection of handbags with me at uni (the majority being Ted Baker totes) although I recently made a new purchase from Pretty Little Thing. The purchase in question is the Millen Black Quilted Chain Strap Bag (Sold out) and is extremely similar to the Chanel Boy Bag (£8,406)  minus the extreme price tag. Although this bag seems rather small at first glance (it’s smaller than a piece of A4 paper) which is the complete opposite to my most recent bag, in which I could fit my laptop as well as many other objects. I love the oxidised look of the metal work as I feel it’s less harsh against the black in comparison with gold or silver hardware.  As well as this I love the chain strap as it can be worn as a traditional handbag with the strap doubled up, or as a cross-body or long strap bag. I tend to just wear the bag as a long strap as I find that’s how it sits best on me (since I’m 5″ tall).

I find this bag is the perfect size for daily use as it fits everything I need but isn’t too large that it ends up filled with junk and rubbish (like far too many of my bags do). Unfortunately, my camera doesn’t fit in this bag, but it’s not very often that I actually carry my camera around with me anyway so it doesn’t bother me too much. When I first got this bag I was surprised at just how much fit in, with it still able to close…however if you fill it up too much then the clasp does struggle to do up, but that’s to be expected. The bag seems to be made of a soft pleather (faux leather) and I am slightly concerned about it getting scratched up but only time will tell as to how it wears. I’m hoping that it won’t show wear too much since it wasn’t as cheap as the bags you can pick up in Primark and it actually feels good quality for the price tag.

I always have my purse, phone and travel card holder on me as these are the items I need day to day. I currently have the iPhone 6 in Silver (I’ve only had it a year so I don’t plan on upgrading to the 7 anytime soon), my purse is the same one from my last what’s in my bag, I am however on the hunt for a new purse and I’ve fallen in love with a Michel Kors but I am not prepared to splash out that kind of money just yet. So until I am prepared then I’ll most likely be sticking with this purse as it fits nicely in all of my bags and I just love how playful the pattern is in contrast to the fact a majority of my bags are plain block colours. I’d be lost without my travel card holder as I have both my Oyster card and my student ID in it, therefore not only would I be unable to get around London without it, I’d also not be able to get into uni. I also tend to have headphones in my bag, and my favourite ones are the Apple earphones as they fit nicely in my ears and I don’t find the sound quality too bad.

If I know I’m going to be spending a lot of time of buses/trains/tubes that day then I’ll normally pop my iPad into my bag as well which I often have a couple of TV episodes downloaded on and I’ll watch them during my commute. I also use my iPad to keep up to date with posts on Bloglovin’ and my unfollowers on Twitter and Instagram, and just general upkeep of my social media. I use my iPad instead of my phone as I like to have quite a bit of music on my phone…plus I rarely delete any text messages… and therefore don’t have the memory to have multiple apps. I always like to have a hand sanitizer with me, especially when I’m using public transport as it is so very filthy and full of germs and I get ill enough as it is without being careless about hygiene.

So due to the fact that this is quite a small bag I’m forced not to carry multiple lip products therefore I always just throw in the one that I’m wearing (at the moment I’m reaching for Burts Bees lipstick in Blush Basin a lot) along with a little compact (this adorable one is from the Beauty Box by Latest in Beauty) so that I’m able to reapply during the course of the day. I don’t to find that any of my other makeup needs to be touched up as the day goes on as long as I use a fixing spray before I go out. Finally, I’ll always have mints on me, I’m not a massive fan of chewing gum (since once it’s run out of flavour it’s pretty grim) at least a mint you can swallow. I’m just very self-conscious of my breath and even though I brush and floss my teeth twice a day I don’t like to risk having bad breath.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my bag, and I guarantee it won’t stay this tidy for much longer it’ll soon end up filled with receipts and bits of rubbish. I thought I’d do this post while it was still clean and new, though. What kind of bag are you currently using?

Love you lots like jelly tots x
