What’s in my Backpack

Snoop In My Backpack

So you’ve seen what’s in my makeup bag, now you get to discover what’s in my backpack. This backpack gets used on almost a daily basis, as I find it fits in everything that I need (plus more) but for aesthetic purposes, I have cleaned my backpack out and gotten rid of all the gross chewing gum wrapped up in tissue. The backpack itself is the Tassel Backpack (no longer available) from Zara and I added a fluffy keyring from Primark (£1.50) and it’s safe to say I’m in love with this backpack, it’s very similar to a backpack I found in Ted Baker but I didn’t want to pay out over £200 for a backpack, it’s not a commitment I’m very to make just yet. I personally don’t really like to carry a lot of things loose in my backpack so I use a Clinique wash backpack to hold smaller items that might get lost in my backpack, I got given this free from the Covent Garden store but obviously, any little pouch can do.

Since we are coming into the warmer weather I always like to carry sunglasses, mine are just a pair I picked up last summer from Primark, and I like to keep a book on me whenever possible. I find this particularly useful when going on long journey trips, currently, I am carrying The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson (£7.99) the only issue I find by carrying a book is that I don’t read it very often and therefore I lose track of the story quickly. Another item I like to carry is my iPad as I cannot fit my laptop in my backpack, and I can still do a majority of things on my iPad. I have the iPad mini 2 (£219.00) in white and I currently don’t have a case on it (risky I know but I love how it looks without a case). To go with my iPad I just have a set of apple headphones that I got when I brought my phone. I also carry the Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream (£3.20) as I find my hands peel really badly in the summer due to my skin getting dehydrated really quickly, and this is a cheap but quality option to carry around.
I will always try to carry my keys (often forgetting them when I need them most…oops) and I just have a scoobie attached to them so I can quickly grab them out of the small pocket in the backpack. Unlike some people I know I love to carry a large purse, mine is from Cath Kidston and is in the Cops and Robbers pattern, however, this exact purse is no longer available so I have found one in the same style but a different print (£32.00). Finally I like to always carry a snack as I often find I’ll get hungry while I’m out and about, currently, I have a packet of chocolate covered peanuts from Sainsbury, but it won’t take me long to each these as they’re one of my all time guilty pleasures to snack on. One thing you might notice missing from my backpack is my phone and that is due to the fact that I like to carry it in my pocket opposed to my backpack.

Like I said earlier I like to use a small wash bag to hold smaller items so we are going to delve into what I have hidden in here. The contents in here doesn’t change very often and I move it between bags when I decide to use a different one. If I’m unsure if I’m coming home that day/night then I’ll pop a toothbrush into my bag just to be on the safe side, after all, nobody wants smelly breath! One of the first things you’ll find in this little bag is my portable charger, I picked mine up in HMV but you can find them in basically any shop. This is a necessity to me as I’m always on my phone…playing Pokemon Go, or on social media…so I often have to charge my battery up half way through the day.

I’m the biggest hoarder of lip products in this pouch, while empty the contents for this post I found no less than six different products in here…no wonder I can never find the item I want while doing my makeup. In here I have Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me (£2.99) which is my go to lip balm and I put it on under every lip product I wear to stop my lips drying out. As well as this I also have Tanya Burr Cosmetics Luxe Lip Gloss in Martha Moo (£5.99), Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade Coral in Gold (£4.99) and the I Heart Makeup Lip Lava in Shockwave (£2.99). If this wasn’t a large enough collection of lip products in one backpack I also have two Mac lipsticks in Velvet Teddy and Men Love Mystery (£15.50 each) apparently carrying multiple lip products isn’t enough for me as I also carry my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair (£4.19), my Benefit Hoola Bronzer (£23.50) and my They’re Real Mascara mini in Black (£9.95). To touch up all these products I carry a compact mirror, mine is from a Ted Baker gift set, but you can pick up compacts in most shops.
Travelling on public transport means I get hot and sweaty a lot, as well as touching button that goodness knows how many germs are home to, therefore I like to carry a body mist and currently, I have the Soap and Glory Orangeasm on hand. To keep my hands clean I use the Carex Hand Sanatizer in Bubblegum (£1.45), and just to keep me from spreading germs I like to have a packet of tissues on hand a key essential in hayfever season. As someone that’s on the go quite often, I’m prone to the odd blister or two, so I like to always have plasters that I can stick on so I can continue with my day and receive minimal trouble. It’s also super handy to have a nail file on hand as you never know when you might break a nail as it is easy enough to catch them while travelling on the tube.
I’m starting to think this little backpack is a Mary Poppins bag with the amount I can fit into it, but I also like to carry mints of gum on me and I currently just have Mentos in there which just freshen my breath up after eating out. Another essential I always like to carry is ibuprofen, as I get terrible headaches and back pain and just by taking a couple of these I am able to carry on with the rest of my day. Finally, I like to keep cough sweets in my backpack as well, as I find my throat gets dry really easily particularly if I’m extremely busy so I just like to pop one of these in my mouth.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into my backpack, and I will be back soon with my July favourites post so keep your eyes peeled for that! But if you want to see a more updated version of this check out my latest What’s In My Bag post.
Love you lots like jelly tots x
