• Twenty Two By Twenty Two

    I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I’M FEELING TWENTY TWO

    Okay, not just yet, but soon I will be

    I sound like a bloody owl when I say twenty two by twenty two, but with my twenty second birthday less than six months away, I thought I’d put together a list of all the things I want to achieve…maybe I should start with realising I’m getting old. It’s crazy to think that in January I hit the big 2-1 and now I’m about to be able to sing 22 for an entire year and HOPEFULLY relate to it. Although I am a working women now so pulling all-nighters is a bit out of the question to be happening on the regular.

    I made a post similar to this a few years ago Twenty Before Twenty and while I did achieve a few things off that list, there’s still quite a few I’m yet to complete. As well as trying to complete these, there are even more things I want to do in the next few months.

    Now I’m going to aim high because I’ve already achieved quite a bit in 6 months…so surely I can achieve just as much in the next 6? Well I’ll give it ago and see what happens. I personally love reading posts like this as it gives me new ideas for goals to set myself. I mean I can go as big or as small as I want, and I’m not going to lie sometimes I can be extremely unrealistic when it comes to the goals I’ve set myself in the past.

    I feel like I constantly have a list of things I want to do but don’t very often get round to actually tackling…well I plan on changing that. Starting today.


    1. Move out

    For the past 3 years I’ve been living at uni for 9 months of the year, so the prospect of moving home for good wasn’t one I was really looking forward to. Now I love my mum to pieces, I’ve just become custom to having my own space and really feeling like I can come and go as I please. Where I currently live is quite far from the city since I don’t drive, but I’m hoping to move a bit closer so I’m able to actually do things regularly without spending a small fortune of buses and Ubers.

    2. Start my driving lessons

    For the past couple of summers I’ve been saying I’ll start my driving lessons and I haven’t, this summer I was determined to learn to drive. Turns out all the schools in my area are booked up for the summer…annoying. Also I don’t think I’m quite confident enough to start driving just yet, I’m thinking of maybe starting in November and slowly take my time rather than trying to rush through and pass by the end of the summer.

    3. Visit London Zoo

    This was on my twenty before twenty list and I still haven’t done it. Therefore I’m determined to do it before I turn twenty two…otherwise I fear I may never do it. I’m not quite sure why I want to go to London Zoo, there’s just something about it that really makes me want to go.


    4. Get a tattoo

    I’ve wanted a tattoo for as long as I can remember but I still haven’t gotten one. I’m thinking of getting one really small and delicate in a place which I can hide it easily as much as I’m dying to have a line work elephant on my forearm I’m just not ready to commit. I have many piercings so I’m not so much worried about the pain, it’s more getting something done and then regretting it.

    5. Finish reading all the books I’ve purchased

    I love reading, and I’m constantly buying new books, but I always always find myself with a pile gathering that need to be read. Some books I’ve had a couple of years if not longer and I’ve still not read them. While others I’ve read the day of purchase. Therefore I need to stop buying books until I actually read some of them that I’ve gathered…although that’s probably not going to happen.

    6. Publish 200 blog posts

    I currently have 142 published posts and I think I can hit 200 by January, obviously I’m not going to just put posts up for the sake of it…I’ve never been someone to do that. So I’m going to have to really organise my life to make sure I actually post regularly. I’m sure I can manage though, if I can write a dissertation and two essays while regularly posting on my blog surely I can juggle a full time job and blogging?

    7. Run 5k

    I work from home and other than walking from the kettle and back I don’t do an awful lot of exercise. As a result my fitness levels are shocking and therefore I’m planning on giving the couch to 5k app a go. I used to love running many years ago, but I never really got back into it when I started dancing. Now it’s a good excuse to step away from my laptop and actually get some exercise in.

    8. Go on holiday with Sam or at least book one

    I’ve been trying to convince Sam to go on holiday with me for the past year to no avail. I’m determined to either get away together before my birthday or at least have one booked for the summer. We’ve discussed several options but it’s quite hard to actually make plans when you only see each other at the weekend…plus we are both busy people so trying to find a date that fits both of us is also a nightmare.

    9. Complete Blogmas

    I managed 5 days of blogging last Christmas, but this year I really want to take on Blogmas. I’m going to try and start planning my content from October so I can have as many posts written and ready to go as possible. Obviously it is going to be a struggle but I’m going to try and but my all in.

    10. Hit 5k on Instagram

    They say that I’m dreamer, but I’m not the only one. So okay this one might be rather extreme considering I’m currently sitting on 2.8k…but the sky is the limit right? I would absolutely love to hit 5k in time for my birthday but I’m not going to set my hopes on it.

    11. Clear our my room

    Obviously if I’m going to be moving out then I need to have a MASSIVE clear out of my room. There’s no doubt that I currently have way too much stuff for one person so that does need to change. I’m used to my life being split between home and university and it was a struggle to fit everything back into one room. I need to have a massive sort through and get rid of anything I don’t need.


    12. Finish a bullet journal

    When I first started blogging I had a bullet journal, I soon forgot about it until last October when I picked it back up again and discovered how useful it actually was. Now I have two, one for work and one for blogging. I’m hoping by my birthday to have filled up at least one of these and while the way I’m going it is looking quite likely for this to happen.

    13. Complete Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the wild

    Two of the games I’m currently playing on the Nintendo Switch. Now I’ve always loved playing video games and the switch has been just the same but I’ve struggled to really get into the story of Zelda, whereas I’ve completed the story of Mario and just need to get the rest of the moons now. I’m planning on taking time to play both of these games on the regular as it is something I do really enjoy.

    14. Make memories

    I’ve always been a sentimental person, but I think memories always mean the most to me. I have a pretty good memory which I’m lucky to have but I’m always wanting to make more memories. Some day I want to have some amazing stories to tell my grandchildren about the sorts of things I got up to in my early twenties.

    15. Watch every single Disney movie

    I have a list in my bullet journal of all the Disney movies that have been released and I’m determined to tick every single one off the off by my birthday, and I’ll be pretty disappointed if I can’t at least manage to do this.

    16. Start playing my guitar again

    I first started playing guitar when I was 10, which is crazy to think it was so long ago. I used to always be playing my guitar, but it kind of ending up on the back burner when I started dancing as I didn’t really have the time to dedicate to it. Then when I went to uni I didn’t take my guitar with me because I was constantly terrified it was going to get broken and now I’m back home and it’s staring at me, willing me to play it.

    17. Get back into shape

    This one really goes hand in hand with run a 5k. I’ve kind of let myself go in the past year and a bit and it does show. I’ve put on a few kilos and while I’m still pretty comfortable in my body, I know it could be a hell of a lot better. Particularly my arms, the jiggle now in a way they never used it.

    18. Complete 6 months in my job

    I’m sure you’re all sick and tired of hearing about my job, but I love it and I really want to make it through the first 6 months successfully.

    19. Fill up my lipstick containers

    Is there really such thing as too many lipsticks? I don’t think so. I currently have 116 but have room for another 34. Now before anyone goes crazy and says who needs 150 lipsticks? I love lipsticks, it’s my main thing I love when it comes to makeup…so don’t rain on my parade.

    20. Try waxing my legs

    I currently love my Rose Gold FFS razor I do want to explore waxing my legs. I have really bad eczema so shaving isn’t always a good idea, but I really don’t like having hairy legs so I’d love to give waxing a try…although I am terrified that it’ll be painful.

    21. Learn to cook new things

    Before I went to uni I could barely cook anything and now I can make full on meals from scratch. I’m constantly wanting to learn to cook new things and try new recipes. Therefore I need to get my butt in the kitchen more often and step outside my comfort zone…and make Sam my guinea pig to trying new things.

    22. Live everyday fully

    While I love a cosy day of doing nothing, being busy 99% of the time has made me appreciate life a lot more, especially the time I get off. While I love blogging, it doesn’t make me enough money to dedicate as much time as I used to. So instead of spending hours writing posts, editing my layout and taking photos instead I can be experiencing new things. I’m only going to be young once so I should make the most of it.

    So that’s the twenty two things I want to achieve before the 13th January 2019. It seems so far away but I know how quickly time seems to fly at the moment. It’s actually whizzing past a lot quicker than I care for, I feel like I honestly don’t have enough time to get everything done. Also within the past 6 months I’ve had a lot of wake up calls, and I feel like I’m heading in the right direction for me, things seemed to have been easier (of course they’re still not super easy but they are easier than before). I think by completing the things on this list I can add a little bit of more happiness into my life.
