Pick ‘N’ Mix

So after seeing a close friend of mine, Bailey, order a Pick ‘N’ Mix from FeelUnique I just had to do the same; I must say there were some pretty amazing options available when I did. After spending a while scrolling through all the options available I chose two make up products, two perfumes, and a hair oil. In total I only I paid £3.95 for these products, well technically I didn’t pay for the samples I simply paid for the postage from FeelUnique, despite normally getting really speedy delivery from FeelUnique this order took exactly a week to arrive…maybe because I was so excited for it.

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

The first product I chose was the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Fiji (Full Size £32.00) I received a 4ml sample size which will allow me to try the product out multiple times before I decide if I wish to purchase the full size. As someone that has been dying to try Nars foundations I had to grab this one, although I did go for a colour that is slightly too dark for my skin tone, but nothing a bit of extra blending can’t correct. So far I’m loving this product and how it looks on my skin, it doesn’t seem to cling to any of my dry patches and I feel as though it is going to be a long lasting foundation. I expect I will make a trip to a Nars counter so I can get colour matched correctly and purchase the full-size bottle, and I’ll probably get a sample of the Nars Sheer Glow at the same time.

theBalm Nude Dude Eyeshadow

Next, we have theBalm Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Flirty from the Nude Dude Volume 2 Palette (£30.00) I received a 1g eyeshadow in a beautiful plum with gold glitter. This shadow will be perfect for autumnal looks with a dark berry lip, it is a shimmer and seems to be well pigmented. I am yet to try the product out on my eyes so I’m not sure how well it would blend out but it does seem very soft and I’d compare it to some of the shadows I have in my Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. I can see myself using this for both daytime and evening looks as I feel you could do a really pretty plum smoky eye look for the evening but pair this colour with a brown and nude for during the day. I will certainly be going to swatch the rest of the colours in the palette before deciding if I’m going to purchase the full size.

Percy&Reed No Oil Oil For Thick Hair

As someone who has been ‘blessed’ with thick hair, I’m constantly looking for products to help keep my hair in good condition; we are speeding towards Autumn and Winter, probably the time where my hair likes to take on its own personality the most. Battling with the wind and rain that we too often receive in England, my locks often suffer a lot of damage and many products on the high street just don’t seem to work. I thought I’d give this Percy&Reed No Oil Oil (Full size £14.00) a try as I love hair oils but find I need to much to coat all my hair I end up getting very greasy hair very quickly. Since this product claims for be a ‘no oil oil’ I’m hoping it won’t weigh my hair down but will help restore some sort of moisture.

Prada Candy Kiss

I remember hearing about the original Prada Kiss perfume many many years ago from Megan&Liz and after smelling the original I liked it, but not enough to purchase a bottle…it wasn’t quite my scent. When I saw the 1.5ml sample of Prada Candy Kiss (50ml for £63.00) on FeelUnique I didn’t doubt getting it and I love the smell so much. I’d describe it as floral but with clean cotton undertones. I’m not sure whether or not I will purchase the full size of this product I will see how I get along with the sample, however, I do recommend you go and give it a smell if you get the chance!

My Burberry

I first tried this perfume in Covent Garden a while ago and fell in love with it, however, the price tag is not one I would normally be willing to pay for a perfume; this lead to me ordering the My Burberry (£64.00 for a 50ml bottle) 2ml sample and I have once again fallen head over heels with this scent. There’s no question that I will be purchasing the full size, not only is the scent beautiful (floral with a slight musk to it) but it’s long lasting. I feel this is a very mature scent and is just what I have been searching for to make my signature fragrance. Expect to see the full size of this product in an upcoming haul or favourites!

img_2014Do let me know if you’ve tried the Pick ‘N’ Mix scheme before and what you thought of it, I think it’s very good value for money as a majority of the samples are high-end products and really you are paying for the convince of having them arrive at your door, opposed to having to go and get them yourselves.

I hope you enjoyed this extra blog post this week, and I will be posting again on Saturday so keep your eyes peeled! Also, do you like the new background I’ve purchased for my photographs, I just feel it’s a lot more professional looking…however I do need to master my camera again.
Love you lots like jelly tots x
