It’s nearly the end of 2017, which to be honest is quite a scary thought…it feels like every year is just getting quicker. In only a few months I’ll be 21, handing in my dissertation and getting ready to graduate. That’s all quite a scary thought, hell I think I’ve already had a crisis over what I’m going to do after graduation
everyone just loves to ask that question so instead of looking too far into the future I’m just going to set short-term goals, ones that I want to achieve in the month of November and hopefully these will also keep me slightly distracted from the speeding future.
I’ve done a couple of goal posts in the past September Goals and August Goals and I really found they helped me keep track of my goals. I’ve also gotten back into the habit of bullet journalling, but I only typically use it for my blog and miscellaneous things,
as I also have a normal agenda to write down work, uni or personal related things. Call me extra I like having 2 planners/ diaries.
Now November is quite a critically month for my uni work, and while I only have a presentation due during this time however it also means the countdown to Christmas in which I have 2 essays due after. Plus let’s not forget that ever creeping closer dissertation deadline, something I don’t think I’ll stop stressing about until I’ve actually submitted it and gotten my grade back.
As well as my uni work I’m also determined to continue posting on my blog, especially as it was this time last year that I ended up only posting once or twice in the entire month and it took until March to actually get my mojo back fully, so I’m praying this doesn’t happen again. While I do have 8 posts planned for November (one of which was meant to go up last Sunday but will be up this Friday instead) I’m not going to freak out if I’m unable to get all of these posts up…although it would be amazing if I could.
Complete Essay Research
I have over 7000 words worth of essays due a couple of days apart at the start of January and therefore I want to try and get all the research done, and the essays planned ready to crack them out in December…between all the festivities. Essay research is probably one of the biggest chores that come with getting a degree, I don’t mind actually writing the essays it’s the research that has to go into them that just drains all the hope out of me.
Maybe a slight exaggeration there.
I’m about halfway through my research for one of my essays, so that’s a positive and is one of the reasons I feel like this goal is going to be achievable in the month…plus 24 hour library hours start soon and I love me a good library sesh.
Purchase All Christmas Presents
It’s really close to Christmas and while I have 1 of Sam’s presents, and know the other 2 I’m going to be getting him. I also know what I’m going to get my Mum as well…but knowing what I’m going to buy and actually having it purchased are two different things. I also need to pick up a little something for Sam’s parents as well. But for one of Sam’s I’m planning on actually making him something
too many hours spent scrolling through Pinterest and it’s something I need to get started on soon or I’ll never get it finished in time…something I’d hate to happen.
Post More Fashion Content
I’m loving stepping more into fashion related content…and you guys seem to be loving it as well. For November I have 3 fashion related posts planned and I hope to do at least 2 a month if not more in the coming months. Fashion is something I love and while I’m not always 100% on trend, I do quite enjoy prancing around in front of the camera. So do expect a few fashion posts this month and let me know what you think.
Although please do not judge the photography in them too much as a lot of them will be shot solo simply with the aid of a tripod and using my phone as a camera remote…let’s also pray that my camera doesn’t get stolen if I’m shooting out and about in London.
Read More Non-Fiction
I read a lot of fiction, and journal articles but I don’t really read that many non-fiction books and therefore this month I’d like to reach The Life Changing Magic Of Not Giving A F**k by Sarah Knight and The Little Book Of Hygge by Meik Wiking and other books like that. So I can expand my knowledge more…especially towards random things so I’m very tempted to pick up 147 Things by Jim Chapman and give that a read as well.
I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to reach in November as I am rather busy, but hopefully I can get a couple of books read on my commutes to work and to events…
yes I take books to events with me
I was sorting through my makeup collection last month and there are products in there that I haven’t used for months or at all and therefore I’m putting myself on a Makeup No-Spend for the whole of November and instead I’ll splurge in December when all the gift sets in boots are half prices
smart shopping. Also, there isn’t really anything I’m absolutely dying to get my hands on at the moment, I’m pretty content with the products I already have, and whenever I go into Boots or Superdrug nothing catches my eye.
Step Out Of My Comfort Zone
Now I’m someone that is quite content with where I am in my life at the moment but in November I want to push myself out of my confident zone in some way, shape or form. I always find I develop more as a person when I step out of my comfort zone and I learn new things about myself and discover that I am capable of more things than I originally thought. It always leaves me in a really good place, and I’m personally always looking to grow and expand as a person so I don’t get bored to death and end up stuck in a runt of doing exactly the same thing every week.
What are your goals for November, and are you also aiming more short-term than long term?
Love you lots like jelly tots x
