A Scent For Every Occasion *

Perfume is the key to all our memories

It’s amazing how a specific scent or smell can bring back memories from a certain period of your life. Sometimes it’s memories of a person, and other times it’s just a memory of an event…I know whenever I smell an Impulse body spray it brings back memories of getting changed after PE, and how we used to all share the same body spray amoungst friends.

I know as the years passed my personal taste in perfume and scents has changed and while I used to adore floral scents, now I cannot stand them…unless they’re extremely subtle or just an addition to another scent. As well as this I used to hate musky scents, I thought they were too heavy and too masciline (althought I loved them on a guy) but now some of my favourite scents are quite heavy and masciline, and with every year my collection of perfumes and body mists continue to expand further.

Tom Ford – Arabian Wood (discontinued)

Now this is probably my favourite perfume at the moment, I’m absolutely obsessed with it and it’s absolutely perfect for a date night as it’s quite a heavy and musky fragrance when I say quite I mean very but it has a very woody undertone to it and I absolutely adore it. This is a very different perfume from my previous favourite, which was Taylor Swift Wonderstruck, but I feel like this Tom Ford is a lot more grown up and sophisticated, I just have to use it carefully as this particular scent is actually no longer available.

So…? Dark Romance* (£5.99)

Now, this perfume is the more affordable, more accessible little sister of Tom Ford – Arabian wood, except this perfume, is quite as heavy and is slightly more classically musky opposed to with the addition of wood. I typically pop this scent on if I’m heading out with friends for dinner as it’s a nice scent but not too overpowering. When I first smelt it, it very much reminded me of my favourite scent growing up (So…? Sinful) but a lot more mature and sophisticated.

So…? Wild Berries* (£3.99)

Body mists are always great just to throw in your handbag to re-apply throughout the day without having to worry about applying too much, and this is one of my favourite scents to do this with when I’m on holiday. It’s a fruity scent which is fun and I feel is just absolutely perfect to apply when I’m lazing around the pool or heading out to visit the local shops to see what souvenirs I can find. Plus since it’s in a plastic bottle it’s not likely to smash in transit.

Obviously, you could easily wear this mist whenever you wanted depending on your personal preference, I could see this also working really well around Christmas time, what with all the berry related lip shades and colours. But personally this is more of a spring/summer scent and I really cannot wait to pull it back out in 2018.

So…? Vanilla* (£3.99)

If you know me then you know I love anything vanilla, scent-wise and food wise, therefore it was obvious there was going to be a vanilla based scent in this post. I typically wear this mist every day and I’m always complimented on it and people think it’s a much more expensive perfume when in fact it’s just a £3.99 body mist. I prefer this Vanilla scent over the Vanilla Milkshake (also by So…?) as it’s not quite as sickly sweet, but still has that classic vanilla scent to it. Could I say the word scent anymore in that paragraph?

Zoella Sweet Inspirations (£8.00)

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know I did a post on Testing Zoella Beauty and this was my favourite scent. While it is a vanilla based scent it also has a couple of other fragrances to it. I love to wear this to work as it keeps me smelling pleasant but is too overpowering…especially as I work around food. My only issue with this scent is that it’s not very long lasting, although when I use the body cream from the same collection I find that together they keep me smelling like a freshly baked macaroon…the dream life.

Snow’ella* (£12.00)

With the holiday season fast approaching, the release of this clean scent from Zoella is absolutely perfect. While I haven’t worn it a lot, every time I do, I absolutely adore it. Now the colder weather is creeping it, I can see myself reaching for this scent more and more as time goes on, and I can’t wait to spritz some on for Christmas day. Snow’ella is getting me excited and making me hope that it might snow this year, as I don’t think we’ve had any snow actually lay for a couple of years now (I know I’ve not experienced a full-on snow day since being at uni). So here’s hoping for a white Christmas, but if this doesn’t occur then this scent alone smells like freshly laid snow.

I absolutely love mixing up what scents I’m wearing and while I typically lean towards musky or fruity scents and tend to stay away from floral. I’m very much the kind of person that if I like a scent I’ll wear it, and do so with style.

What are your favourite kinds of scents? Do you have one particular perfume you always wear or different ones for different occasions?

Love you lots like jelly tots x
